Great vacation
We had a wonderful vacation. Jackie and I took mother and Alyssa and Lexi on a surprise vacation to Judys. The look on mothers face when we got there was priceless. Wow, she is such a wonderful hostess. My grandkids talk about her everyday now. Yes, she spoiled them rotten just like she did me when I was a little girl. They will never forget that trip so that makes it even more special to me..
We had a good time at Jackies too. Cooked out, went swimming, went to church. Jackie is a great navigator. That girl gets you where you want to go.
We also put some new flowers on daddys grave for fathers day. It was pretty sad, but at least I got to spend time with my mother and sister, grandkids and daddy that day. He would like the flowers. Alyssa sure broke down. Those kids loved daddy so much and they talk about him every day. But Alyssa and I were talking last night and we were outside looking at the clouds (we've been doing that alot here lately, making shapes out of clouds) and she said if she was an angel she would just fly over all of us. She said she thinks Papa is up there just having a good time. I asked her how she thinks he would look? She said just the same except with a brand new body that doesn't hurt anymore. The little girl has got it all figured out..
Judy was very impressed with the prayers she says. She always says something special in each prayer she leads..

Happy Birthday Daddy
Well, I'm actually a day late. His birthday was the 30th but I really wasn't in the mood to post anything yesterday. He would have been 81. He almost made it. Jackie came out Monday afternoon (James told her to get going between snow storms). We didn't do anything really. I got to visit with her some Monday night and we took mama to the doctor but that was really all we did. I had to keep both of my grandkids Tuesday and it started snowing, so mother and her went to the grocery store and Kmart. I stayed in Tuesday. I kept getting sick at my stomach and had a bad headache. I finally threw up and felt better but still had a headache. Then when I called mothers Wednesday morning around 10am (I actually stayed in bed until about 9:30 because the kids came over and went back to sleep)she had already left and went home. Mother said she got a call that someone has passed away and her church was going to fix a meal so she went home to do that. She is always busy with something. I was already a little blue Wednesday missing my daddy and then I ended up getting mad when Tech fired Mike Leach so my attitude pretty much sucked. No one probably wanted to be around me anyway. I know each day will get better, I just feel real sorry for mama. She seems lost to me. I think she has a friend coming to Texas pretty soon, so I will probably take her to Jackies and let her take her around to visit some. Maybe that will perk her up a little. Well, anyway Happy Birthday daddy. I'm sure he had a better day than I did.

Happy Thanksgiving

Well, I haven't posted since Jackies birthday. We have been a little overwhelmed out here in West Texas. As you all probably already know, daddy was back in the hospital 2 weeks ago. He was there for 5 days and the doctors and social workers at the hospital talked to Jackie and I and thought we really should consider hospice. So that's what we did. He's pretty sick and in our minds we think we are preparing for what could happen but who knows if we'll be prepared or not. He knows he's very sick and he keeps saying he's ready to go. This is so hard to write but I feel I need to get it out at this moment. I am home alone and I don't have to pretend that everythings ok because it is NOT!!! I just want to scream...It's not just him that we are worried about, our mother is very sick too. She keeps saying she's ok, but I don't think she is. She just seems lost to me. I just wish I could take their pains away from them and bare them all myself but I can't. We prayed over him and told him it's ok if he needs to go and we will take care of mother and that we loved him and Brandy and Melanie came in and had their private moment with him and told him they loved him. Jesse got to come the first time he was in the hospital and see him, so I think he knows we all know what's coming. I would just like to ask everyone to keep him in your prayers and pray that he will just go to sleep and suffer no more. I understand that life goes on and God shows us that everyday. Even with all that is going on I still am able to have some happy moments. I will post Alyssas first school picture. She did so well the first six weeks. She's very smart just like her Aunt Brandy and her Grammy of course (ha). She is "Patriot" of the month this month. Her school mascot is the Patriot. I am still keeping Miss Prissy, that's what I call Lexi. If you don't know Lexi, you don't know what you're missing. She's like talking to a grown up. Her poor little head must hurt because I don't understand how one three year old child can pack so much info in her little brain. She can tell me on my 10 disc CD player in my car, which disc to play and what number each song is on and she can sing them too. She can go from Alan Jackson to Michael Jackson and never flinch. I just sometimes sit and listen to her when she doesn't know I am and she will recite books word for word from her "Tag Reader" and she doesn't even have it with her. I know I am bragging but isn't that what Grammys are supposed to do?
With every tear I shed I try to think of something to be happy about.
Always be thankful for the good things you have because they could be gone in the blink of an eye, do away with the things that are bad in your life so you don't get pulled down. Life is a gift. Take time and thank God for giving it to you and remember we are only here for a little while and then we have a better place waiting on us all if you want to go there. Everyone is welcome.
Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless you all.

My nephew all grown up

While I was at my sisters I was lucky enough to get to see my nephew. He's all grown up now. He brought out his girlfriends little boy so that we could go get some pics of him in the Bluebonnets. He warmed up to me real quick. He's got the cutest blue eyes. Jesse is so good with him and you can tell he really likes Jesse too. He looks like he knows just what he's doing on that piano. He may be a prodigy child who knows..
Ok, I'm a dumby
Sorry about the previous post. I'm not real familiar with how to layout the text and pics together. I think it's called "preview". I will try harder next time.
Easter 2009

I am just now getting around to post some Easter pics. We had a good day. We ALL went to church. Can you believe it? Our church is huge and it was packed. Several thousand people were there. Then we went over to Melanies for lunch and the kids hunted eggs in the back yard. Here's one picture of mama and the girls. She looks 100% better in this picture. I think she is feeling human again.
